As another newbie, let me welcome you to the community.
I’m Tdog, Thomas W. Case, a poet and fiction writer. I like poetry and classic fiction. Bukowski is my favorite writer, If I owned a food truck, I would sell ice cream, because it’s one of the 5 food groups. The best hour for writing is whenever the muse is awake, because, she is fickle.
Welcome to the community, Tdog! I like Bukowski, too. He was as blunt as Hemingway, but in a more imaginal way.
I agree, Bukowski is all I read for a while. I like Neruda a lot as well.
Hi everyone!
-
I love to read sci-fi/fantasy and paranormal romance, though right now I’m really into psychological thrillers as well. Favorite authors are Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher.
-
Hmm, if I owned a food truck, I’d sell breakfast food. Breakfast food’s the best.

The best writing time is usually first thing in the morning, but since I have to work, the next best writing time is usually early evening, after the day job is done.
So excited to join this community!
Welcome to the community! We’re happy to have you here. Breakfast food is the best food, especially for supper on a cold winter’s night.
Thank you! And yes, definitely.
What do you like to read?
I read a lot of different genres; however, I tend to stick to historical romance, and YA fantasy. I love a good HEA and a fun adventure.
If you owned a food truck, what kind of food would it sell?
I would sell Coffee and pastries, but the must have would be chocolate.
The best hour for writing is around 10:00 am , because that seems to be the time of the day that I am my best creative self, my mind is clear, unburdened by the day’s events and I am free to produce great story.
Welcome @candygood!
Oh we love and live on coffee and pastries!
What would you name your food truck?
I once daydreamed of a coffee shop that specialized in cheesecakes and perfectly partnered brews. I thought to call it Brew Bakers.
Cheesy I know (no pun intended) but i could picture it as a quaint (fictional if not real) little place with historic charm. In a Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie kind of way. Being furnished generously, exquisite cakes and as @Danielw once said, “a suspiciously successful bakery”.

Hello, fellow writers!
** What do you like to read?*
Science Fiction, Thrillers, & more!
** If you owned a food truck, what kind of food would it sell?*
I would have a fusion of Medieval & Modern Mediterranean Foods on my food truck because it’s delicious and I’ve done extensive research & recipe redactions in the cuisine of the Mediterranean from the Roman Empire and beyond.
** The best hour for writing is ___, because __.*
The best hour for writing is any one in which your writing flow jives with your health, schedule, and environment.
Ok, You had me at the Medieval menu! I am completely intrigued! Please, could you share more?
What was the most surprising dish you found in your research?
Have you considered writing a recipe book on the subject?
How does one even begin to tackle the research of said subject?
I find the meals of history fascinating. Food is such a defining statement about the people that consume it.
okay, my name is Heath. I’ve been a student of Mr. Wallace for several years and continue to be challenged and inspired.
I read technical journals, historical documents, laws and statutes, encyclopedias, dictionaries (which is how I learned particle physics), biographies and various fiction. (I prefer sci-fi over all, but mixed genres are also in my top ten. I began to avoid certain ‘grity’ novels due to gratuitous sex and most romances for the same reason. Just my preference.
Food truck: mac-n-cheese everything, or eggs on burgers. Love them.
Best hour for writing is mid-morning because I’ve usually discovered what needs to be done for the day and that I don’t wanna.
Heath, Welcome to the group! It is wonderful to have you here with us.
I think i can speak for everyone on this, we all have had real guidence and growth as writers from @Danielw teachings, and the experience has bonded us all in our mutual desire to be even better writers.
You are amongst friends.
What has been your favorite part of learning from Daniel on your writing journey?
(Any one that has a story to tell on this question please do share.)
My favorite was the very first time I stumbled across The Character First intro to the course.
For the first time in my life I received an actual workable problem solving technique of “where to begin” my story that worked instantly.
I kept thinking there had to be a catch but nope Mr. Wallace sincerely did just want to help get writers writing. It was such a breath of fresh air!
Nice to meet you DeAnna.
My favorite part of learning from @Danielw has two parts. The first thing he did was to send me a ten part ‘assignment’ project in my email. He walked through outlining the characters and the scene then describing the scene. It was the most practical and helpful guidance I had ever recieved.
Second was the course ‘Plot Like A Boss’ which later became character first. I have it as a reference and I often go through the character design steps as a way to jumpstart ideas.
Yes, Daniel has repeatedly helped me despite my bank. A real super hero to this struggling writer.
Kia ora, koutou.
My name is Annie and I live in Aotearoa (New Zealand). I am the 9th of 10 kids and have 3 of my own, each of whom has a child. So, my direct descendants are 4 males and 2 females.
To answer the questions set above, I read all sorts.
-
I particularly love, e.g., Wilde, Holmes, Tolkein, Christie and others of that ilk or period. Genre - scifi, murder, mystery, not a fan of romance! When at uni, studied Old English, Chaucer and all those, too. Just loved it. I began watching the first series of Game of Thrones but was disgusted by the wanton sex and murder of a young boy as well as other aspects, so stopped watching.

If I owned a food truck, I’d be eating deep fried food all the time, especially crispy chips and camembert cheese. I’d also want friends and family to have their favourite food so would let them use my truck on occasion.

Best time for writing? Hmmm…whenever the fancy takes me. I notice I write mostly during the day, anytime between mid-morning and late afternoon. Trouble is, I don’t get at it enough.
A word about Daniel. I absolutely love the summits he’s run. The speakers have all been amazing and I have learned so much. I think Daniel is a hero!
