The Sound of a Writing Prompt

One of the most challenging aspects of writing fiction can be describing simple everyday sounds in an effective and meaningful way.

The good news is practice makes perfect.

Take just 5 minutes to describe one of these sounds. Dive deep and flesh out your description to its fullest potential.

Feel free to repeat the process with as many of these prompts as you like.

If the prompt takes you down a rabbit hole feel free to share it here with the group.

We love rabbit holes here!

Todays prompts from @make_me_imagine,

The only sound was the snowfall soft as a whisper. Like a sleeping baby’s breath at the edge of silence, the snowflakes fell all around me.
