How to Write to Market and Still Write What You Love

Having recently read Crafting Category Romance: The Art of Fiction Haiku by Amy Lane, and after listening to Michael La Ronn’s masterclass session in the Fiction Marketing Academy summit yesterday, this seems like a timely article to share and discuss. There is no doubt that writing to the specifications and expectations of your chosen genre can both save valuable writing hours and increase your odds of success within the market place. But that doesn’t have to equal turning out cookie-cutter stories or erasing your originality or creative spark.
